From its inception in the early 1990s, to its first class in 1998, and during its first 13 years of outstanding achievement, Pioneer Middle School has been an educational flagship for its community and indeed for the state of California.
Pioneer's greatness has not been an accident - it is the product of careful design by community members who place a high value on education. The Tustin community came together to design the very best place for its young people to become outstanding community members: They chose an awe-inspiring hilltop site, commissioned an award-winning school building, filled it with the latest learning technology, hired the best staff available, and continued to stay involved, through one of the most active PTOs anywhere.
As a result, Pioneer Middle School has become one of the best reasons for families to live in Tustin. The school that is a product of the community's high standards and dedication to its children is now entering its tenth year as one of the top-performing middle schools in the United States.
