•Elementary School Visitations

During the week of April 4th, 2011, we will be visiting the elementary schools that are within Pioneer’s attendance area. The purpose of this visit is to introduce ourselves, to provide an overview of our school, to review the 6th grade course selection process, and to answer student questions. Each student will also receive a course selection form that they will return to their 5th grade teacher.

• 5th Grade Parent Night

The parent(s) of our incoming 6th graders are invited to join us for an informational meeting on Thursday, March 31st, 2011 at 6:30pm in the Pioneer MPR. During this evening, we will provide an overview of Pioneer’s academic, enrichment, and extra-curricular programs.

• “Make-Up” 5th Grade Parent Night

If you are unable to attend our 5th grade parent night, we will have a “make-up” event on Friday, April 1st at 8:00 AM in the Pioneer MPR. Because we believe that this information is vital to your student’s future success at Pioneer, we want to give our parents every opportunity to attend.

• Course Selection Sheet Return

All incoming 6th grade students must return their course selection sheets to their 5th grade teacher by Friday, April 8th. The form must be signed by a parent/guardian.

• Open House

Pioneer’s annual Open House is Tuesday, May 31st from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. This evening is an excellent opportunity to visit our 6th grade classes and get a first-hand view of our school.

• 5th Grade Pioneer Field Trip

Our incoming 6th grade students will be coming to Pioneer for a field trip on Wednesday, May 25th.

• 6th Grade Student Registration

Please plan ahead! Due to unsettled negotiations regarding next year’s calendar, the date for summer registration has not yet been determined. However, we expect this very important day to be scheduled within the last two weeks of August. This event is very important, as students will receive their schedule, books, locker, PE clothes, etc. We will send more specific information and the date to you as soon as possible.

Our district tech department is working diligently with the company to fix the problem.
